Come Join Us at the
SAY "GOOD-BYE" TO WINTER! And "HELLO" to a new riding season!
COME JOIN US for food, fun and fellowship....
and ADD to your bike knowledge!!
Join us as we kick off a GREAT new season of
fun rides and interesting adventures of the road (or trail!).
THURSDAY, APRIL 29, 2010
FOUR SEASONS BANQUET HALL 5:30 PM
Dinner (6 pm) is $13 per person, payable at the door.
Also, if you haven't already, sign up NOW to
continue your support of ChainLink Cyclists by
being a club member in 2010
($10 per person or $20 per family).
After dinner, by popular demand, we will once again hold a
"Free-Wheeling Round Table"
of intimate, hands-on, nitty-gritty bicycle information –
we'll have topics such as:
how to change a flat tire (all by yourself!),
using a CO2 cartridge or frame pump
(without any explosions!),
how to adjust your brakes
(so your bike won't sing better than you do),
basic daily/weekly bike maintenance
(so you can "keep on rollin' "),
proper Helmet Fit
(shouldnŐt fit like a ball cap – BRING YOUR HELMET),
how to use a GPS with your bike
(high tech ways to "get lost"),
how to plan a self-supported bike trip
(send us a post card!),
how to bike in any weather
(whether you want to or not!)
Here's how it works -
you will get small-group instruction on a topic of interest,
then, after 20 minutes, head to another "station" to
learn something else new or use as a refresher course.
You will get a chance at 3 - 4 areas of interest!
Whether you know absolutely nothing
(about bikes!), a little, or a lot, there should be something here for you!
DON'T MISS OUT!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW!
Please RSVP to our eVite that we sent out
ASAP so we can prepare - THANKS!
(If for some reason you didn't receive the eVite, then respond here...please!)
P.S. If you can't make it for dinner
you are still WELCOME to roll in later (approx. 6:45) to join us for the Round Table!
P.P.S. Don't forget to invite your friends!
You do NOT need to be a ChainLink Cyclist Member to come!
For more information, call
Jilly Whiting at 815-233-4663
or email us at email@example.com.
P.P.P.S. ALSO - we will have a "SWAP-A-RAMA" table –
if you have bike things to sell,
let us know and bring them to set out to sell –
this table will be monitored (by "Swap Cop" Chuck Beichel!)
AND – We are asking ALL OF YOU to bring copies
(maybe 20-30) of some of your favorite bike routes
(maps or written directions) to
share with others to set out for all to collect!
